You can apply parental controls on your child’s devices and apps to ensure they are protected from strangers, identify theft & cyber threats.
Observe
Encourage your child to complete online activities in a shared space at home eg living room. This will allow you to monitor the content of websites and apps.
Expectations
Have a discussion with your child about how they should use the internet and set a fair timescale for when devices can be used.
Chat
Encourage your child to be open and honest with you if they have any negative experience online.
Share
The internet can be a great way to get involved in your child’s favourite app or game. You can join in or watch them complete a new skill.
