Promoting Positive Mental Health

Mental Health First Aid

At Dumfries High School we are committed to promoting positive mental health and supporting young people who find that they are struggling. Our team of qualified mental health first aiders, working alongside the Pupil Support Department, are here to offer signposting advice and support for any young person who feels that they require some help.

How do I contact mental health first aid?

If you feel that you could benefit from speaking to one of our Mental Health First Aiders, you can organise a session in the following ways. Someone will be in contact with you within 24 hours to respond to your query. If you are a parent or carer, you can also complete a referral on behalf of your young person.

  • Email gw14macphersonrachae@glow.sch.uk . Please ensure that you state your name and your house so that we can get back in contact with you.
  • Click the “GET HELP” button on the school website’s home page.
  • Click this link and fill out the form
  • If it is a lunch or breaktime, feel free to go to the room of any team member and they can help you or arrange a time for you to sit down for a session.
