Samye Ling visit for Higher RMPS students

SENIOR pupils from Dumfries High School were given the opportunity to experience the daily lives of Buddhist Monks and Nuns recently with a visit to the Samye Ling Monastery and Tibetan Centre.

Despite the abysmal weather on one of the days, the Higher Religious, Moral and Philosophical Studies pupils were complimented on their mature attitude and behaviour.

The pupils were given a guided tour of the grounds and the Temple by one of the ordained nuns who gave them a unique insight into the daily lives of Buddhist Monks and Nuns.

The class study Buddhism as a World Religion for part of the Higher course.

According to their RMPS teacher Ms Glen: “It is an amazing place well worth a visit!”
