January 2022 Exams

S4, S5 & S6 Prelims – Mon 14th Jan to Fri 25th Jan

Senior pupils undertaking National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher courses are about to undertake a series of prelim exams. These will begin on Monday 14th January and run until Friday 25th January. All pupils have been issued with a prelim exam timetable and have been advised to check this carefully, noting all relevant information for the subjects they are studying. It is important to note that the prelims only affect pupils undertaking National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher courses; National 1-4 courses are continually assessed and do not therefore have an external exam.

A structured study programme will have helped pupils to prepare for these important exams. Study support sessions are ongoing as they have been since the start of the academic year and we would continue to encourage pupils to attend as many of these sessions as possible. Results from these prelim exams may impact upon the eventual level of presentation in the SQA exam diet during May and June next year.

When pupils are not undertaking an exam, they should be in timetabled classes as normal. If a pupil is absent on the day of a prelim exam, contact must be made with the main office first thing in the morning to ensure all relevant procedures are followed.

Following the prelim exams, full reports will be issued on Friday 15th February 2019. Thereafter, Parents’ Evening for S4 will take place Wednesday 20th February 2019. Parents’ Evening for S5/6 will take place on Tuesday 26th February 2018. Pupil and parent option interviews will take place during week commencing 25th February 2018.

If you have any queries regarding prelim exams, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Yours sincerely
