“The children, pupils, parents and staff of the North West Community Campus (NWCC) continue to be patient and resilient as they continue to work in the decant arrangements. We want to keep everyone involved updated with the best information we have available, while we know that this might change.
We have been advised by HUB South West and Graham’s that due to their programme of remedial work and the independent checks required the school will not be ready for pupils and staff to return after the October holidays, and it is likely that the time for the decant will extend to the new year. Ongoing works with quality assurance inspections are being undertaken and a system of checks and assurances has been agreed on a room by room, corridor by corridor basis.
At the moment, The Hub South West and Grahams have given a commitment to have all necessary works complete by December 2018. The Council will keep this under review, and take account of the need for a planned opening of the school when we have full confidence in the building. It continues to be a difficult time but pupils are working hard with support from staff and families and the other schools across the Burgh.”
