Leonard Cheshire Award

Harry S5 has been invited along with Olivia Robinson to the Leonard Cheshire in Scotland Community Awards in Edinburgh on Tuesday the 5th March.  This ceremony is to award volunteers and Can Doers.

Harry was part of the pilot ‘Can Do’ group at Dumfries High School last year where he took part in various activities led by Olivia and received his Can Do award at the end of 2017/18 term.

Harry has been invited because since taking part in the pilot scheme he has gone and completed 50 extra hours to gain his Saltire Award.  His hours have included taking part in the Super Heroes Triathlon in London last summer.  In fact he beat Olivia!

He has also helped at the Men Shed barbecue; promoted the Can Do project, watched movies and written reviews that were posted on the Can Do website.  He has decorated a cow which is the Can Do Scotland mascot and various other things to promote Can Do.

We are all very proud of Harry and there is a whisper of Harry receiving a surprise award from Leonard Cheshire.
