Over 100 pupils from the High school, StJoseph’s College and Dumfries Academy attended a French play by the Onatty Company on Monday 18th February. The play was called La salle des énigmes, which means The Escape room. The two characters were locked in an escape room and had an hour to solve riddles in French with a lot of help from the audience in order to get out of the room. Four pupils even got on stage to give them a hand proving to be very good at French as they had to understand the actors ‘instructions and use the language as well. They managed to solve all the puzzles, which were related to Howard Carter’s discovery of Tutankhamun’s grave, and found la formule magique that allowed the characters to get out of the room. It was good fun and the pupils were great participants.
